17th October 2018, Bangor 1st HOME
Firstly, we had to make do with playing on the sand pitch, as opposed to the hockey pitch we train on week in week out. Bangor arrived but were only equipped with 8 players in total, meaning we had a 3-man advantage in the outfield. Despite the 3-man advantage it took a while for us to show our dominance, struggling to get the ball in the D and get any kind of shot off. Bangor had obviously opted to play very defensively packing their D with most of their players. One of our freshers in the starting line-up Jaime, quickly showed his finishing touch with two quick one-touch slap ins, followed by another of our freshers Adam taking the score up to 3-0 in similar fashion. As we started to constantly fire shots off and assert our dominance, my dick of the day vote was sealed by missing a fairly easy chance to score with the keeper on the floor and simple flick over him required. In the second half, as we picked up where we left off comfortably picking Bangor apart, we were awarded a penalty flick, to which Jaime calmly flicked away to complete his debut hat-trick. Nearing the end of the match the ole so reliable Tom Fay managed to squeeze a goal in for the last play of the game to take the match score to 5-0. With a debut hat-trick for Jaime it was obvious that he was to pick up the Man of the Match award.
