All 3 LUMHC teams returned to BUCS action last Wednesday, with another successful day in the books. The 1st and 2nd XI both returned from Keele with maximum points, whilst the Pride secured a draw in Manchester to keep their title ambitions alive. The 1st XI then overcame some rough play on Saturday to beat Leyland and Chorley by 9 goals to 0.
Too much fun, not enough J
With all three teams playing away last Wednesday, a late entry to social was made by most, disrupting Sticky, Maisie and Eileen's quiet Wednesday night catch-up over a pint. From there on in, social descended into chaos, unsurprising given the amount of Fun that had been consumed by that point of the day. Fortunately though, Draco managed to leave his ID at home so everyone was spared his presence for one week at least. As the boys entered Sugar, the real Kaiser came out to play, whilst a Weekly Newsletter prediction from before Christmas came true for Bellend.
Saturday social was a bit of a quieter affair, after a large night out on Friday for some members of the club. Nevertheless, entertainment was provided by Pugh and Sesh, as their long-brewing feud boiled over into mortal kombat. The entertainment was enjoyed so much by those present, that a rematch including an undercard of Draco vs Zaki has already been arranged. Meanwhile, Sticky and Mr. Henderson obviously got the directions wrong for the Skybar, as they somehow managed to end up at the women's social. May their heads be struck from their shoulders for such disloyalty. At least they weren't as badly lost as ~Cal and Lavs, who somehow managed to think that social that weekend was based in Bristol.
Plug of the week
2nd XI members Haggis and Ted completed a sponsored 10k run for Parkinson's UK on Saturday. Whilst ex-1st XI captain Ham may describe such a distance as a 'Sunday morning run', the dynamic duo found such a distance a bit harder than Hammy, given that it was their first ever long-distance run. Any donations to Parkinson's UK would be greatly appreciated on their JustGiving page:
The Week Ahead pt. 1
LUMHC social sec, Dev Squad stalwart and Bishop Burton top scorer Eileen will be representing the club this Friday in the Ballroom Dancing Society's annual charity showcase. Having trained since the beginning of the academic year, Eileen is confident of a strong performance and if anyone has seen him in Sugar throughout the year, they will know that he knows how to work those hips. Whilst disappointingly dancing to a song from the film 'Strictly Ballroom' rather than 'Come on Eileen' by Dexy's Midnight Runners, a large LUMHC contingent will be present, giving the Lancaster BNOC all of the support he needs. You can view the Facebook event here, and buy your tickets throughout the week in the Learning Zone, so make sure to contribute towards a great cause!
The Week Ahead
Another busy week of fixtures for all 3 teams. The 2nd XI in particular will be looking to score a victory in a crucial top-of-the-table clash against Manchester. On Wednesday evening, the boys will come together to enjoy the ever-popular wingman social.
