Work hard, play hard - with Nick (bye Nick have fun)
The club trains outdoors on Monday and Thursday evenings, with indoor training on Sundays. We meet at 6.30pm on a Monday and do some light fitness (e.g. a campus run) before training begins at 7.00pm. The following hour and a half will be the best hour and a half of your week, that is until training comes around again at 7.30pm on a Thursday. After another hour and a half session, you will go home thinking that the week couldn't possibly get any better. Well, you'd be wrong. Just at the point when you're getting withdrawal symptoms, indoor hockey training is there for you on a Sunday to give you a little top-up of legendary LUMHC 'chat' before the week starts in earnest again on a Monday.
LUMHC has (Edit: had) two very talented coaches in Nick Davey and Chris Simcock. Now Nick is moving on (good luck at your new job) we will have a very talented coach in Chris and we will have a new coach joining us)
In training we try to focus on all aspects of the game, based on the good judgement of our captains and the coaches, in order to support our title bids in the BUCS leagues. Thursdays in particular are used to try to improve on aspects from the game the day before.
