The Pride continue the cup dream with a win away at Bolton
With funjs and low expectations of the pitch, the 3rds embarked on their journey to Bolton. Surprisingly, upon arriving the 3rds were greeted with a brand new pitch although the showers were a bit piss poor (Alvin). As the game commenced, it was made clear that the Bolton side relied on a couple of individuals. One of which was a very skilful yet “confident” player who looked to be very dangerous with the ball. Once Romeo and Hamlyn had him under control the 3rds started getting more possession, but the game was still very much back and forth. Suddenly, captain Matt made a wonder run skipping past multiple defenders to slot the ball past the keeper. From the attacks they had Cam, Guy, Shanks and Macro put a shift in and defended well. Even though some of Macros tackles were questionable at times. After a little team talk and inspiration from Matt the team started the second half. Within a couple of minutes of great passing and runs Tracey put the ball in the back on the goal. After the goal the 3rds went straight back at Bolton and in a similar manner got another two goals from Tracey in quick concession. Making the score 4-0. The game resumed its normal state of back and forth. In the final 15 minutes of the game the 3rds seemed to be unsettled and the Bolton’s attacks were becoming more frequent. Then Bolton scored a scrappy goal which increased the pressure even more. The pressure was starting to get to the 3rds and Bolton scored again in the last 5 minutes. Seconds before the whistle was blown, a short corner was given to Bolton. No goal was conceded but another short corner was. And with the second short corner cleared the game finished 4-2 to Lancaster. To celebrate the 3rds started their journey back with a bit of karaoke and funjs.
MOM : Hamlyn (Solid in midfield all game)
DOD: Sam (Forgetting his hockey shoes)
