3s dominate resulting in a perfect day for LUMHC
The game began with early domination from the Pride with a solid press provoking mistakes from their back line. Unfortunately we could not capitalise upon their errors as much as we ought to have keeping the game within Chester’s reach. Cam opened the scoring with a hefty biff into the side netting showing why he should be a striker and not a defender. Things were looking up for the pride as Matt slotted in the 2nd with an almighty tap-in as we began to take a firm gras on the game. Going into half time the score was 2-0 to the Pride as we prepared to pile on the pressure in the 2nd to finally put the nail in Chester’s coffin.
Early pressure from the off led to Matt getting his 2nd goal of the day with a delightful finish into the bottom left after beating his man, making us all proud to call him our Captain. As Chester began top tire the mistakes from their backline became more and more frequent leading to chance after chance to make it 4-0. At this point in the game they had still yet to enter our box as Shanks took a mid-game nap in the net at the far side of the pitch. The endless pressure eventually paid off as Lenny went on a mazy run past at least 2 of their defenders to then cross the ball into the box where yours truly was waiting to slot it in to the bottom left to make the score 4-0.
We were now comfortably in the lead with the midfield and defence playing it around Chester like prime Barcelona. Matt was notably nervous at the prospect of scoring a hat-trick and his fears were soon to come into fruition as the ball was played into him in the D. Despite his best efforts to miss the net, the ball trickled in, delighting the LUMHC ultras on the sidelines. 5-0 to the Pride.
Before Chester even had a chance to catch a breath Cam slotted in his second of the day making it 6-0. We began to run away with the game and aimed; in the closing 20 minutes, to score as many as possible despite our already commanding lead.
Step up Mr Daniel Milverton who fires the ball into the corner of the net sending the supporters wild. Its like he never left. Now 7-0 up, we took it upon ourselves to miss a few more chances before the game was ended prematurely due to their keeper suffering an injury. Clearly some people can’t handle the power of Cam Dwelley’s biffs.
Overall, good performance from the Pride and a great way to start off the new season
Man of the Match: Hamlyn for the midfield control
Dick of the Day: MILF for the poor volley
