Winning return for the 3s in Manchester
The LUMHC 3s secure 3 points with a 2-1 win away against Manchester 5’s.
Alright lads, first game back after our suspension and we decide to take a little shopping trip for 3 points in Manchester this week. We left 20 minutes late due to my impeccable timekeeping hence the DoD and also forgetting my mouthguard. However, we arrived with a squad of 13, 2 hours early because we have nothing better to do with our lives than play hockey. The cold and dewy weather didn’t help with the shopping trip moral. We have to give credit to the DJ Palmer for the absolute bangers while we waited for the match start. The cam recorder (Cam) was able to spot foul play which is a big no-no, as a Manchester 3’s player was to play for the Manchester 5’s, which we considered despicable customer service. After a thorough discussion, we were compensated by receiving unqualified referees. Despite these circumstances, within the first 5 minutes of the game, our Slutty captain was able to skip and hop his way through the defensive lines giving us our first goal of the day. Our sloppy play didn’t help us, who would have thought? Allowing them to equalise (1-1) in the first 10 minutes. Determined not to go home with a miniscule point, Romeo with his beloved Juliet locked arms to score a rocket-powered shoot making it 2-1. Just before half time, Cam had a heave of anger rushing through his veins ensuring the ball didn’t live to see another day by SPLITTING IN HALF.
Second half, not much action happening as we struggled to find the back of the net to expand our lead as there was some difficulty in controlling the ball due to the pitch. There were 3 lads with notable performance that evening:
1) Cam who was able to hold down the fort without letting a single ball through but also able to dribble past the entire opposition 2) Berto an indestructible tank who just kept going till the very end 3) Sam for living up the game by keeping it wide and solid defending.
With that in mind, there has to be a special mention to the new recruits of the 3’s Killer, Alex Jardine, and Lucas who played fabulously on their debuts. All things considered, the shopping trip was a success. See you boys after Christmas.
